There is a soda company called NATURALÉ90 that has been around for around 30 years, and I was fortunate enough to receive a shipment of soda from them for review on this blog. They sent me a variety of their different sodas, which included a great addition that I rarely see in a gourmet soda line: a diet version. This is great, because diet sodas can be enjoyed without as much guilt, and have fewer tooth-rotting ingredients.

I recently received a box of 8 assorted truffles from Dan at Dilettante, which is a gourmet chocolate company based out of Seattle, Washington. While I was researching the company, I noticed that they have quite a history. They were founded in 1898 by a Hungarian immigrant and the family has kept the company running for over 100 years now. Anyway, I tried 3 of the chocolates from the box for the review, and I am going to go through them and talk about the different flavors.

I was generously sent 4 bottles of gourmet soda from Black Bear Beverages, which is a company that manufacturers a couple of different brands of soda. Rich from The Little Pearl was kind enough to send me a caviar set from their website for me to use as the basis for my inaugural review. I just received the package about an hour ago or less, and I have been tasting it since. The package included a 1 oz. tin of their American Sturgeon, which is one of their local caviars. Like I said in the introduction to this blog, I am no expert on gourmet, and will be learning with you for the most part, which is why I created it in the first place.

Hi everybody, and thanks so much for joining me on the Gourmet Blog: For Foodies, By Foodies.
My name is Ben Fryxell, and I am the creator of this blog. I will be the first to admit that I am not even remotely considering myself the foremost food connoisseur out there. However, I do love food, and know a little bit about it, so this blog is where I will be posting my reviews about various food and drink items, with all kinds of different ethnicities and origins, and will be learning along with you about the wonders of the food world.
I look forward to this journey, and hope to be able to provide you with some great ideas for food and the like. Enjoy the blog!
